“Westworld” S3 Tech & This Season Trailer

Following its season premiere last night, HBO has released both a trailer for what’s to come in the remaining seven episodes of the third season of its sci-fi drama “Westworld,” along with a featurette about its making

The second episode looks to explore events between the seasons and how Charlotte awakes in the real world. Meanwhile, Maeve aligns herself with a mysterious character (Vincent Cassel), and Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) joins up with the island-stuck Ashley (Luke Hemsworth).

Showrunner Jonathan Nolan has also revealed to Variety that the production this year used a variation of the StageCraft technology developed for “The Mandalorian” at Disney+ by Jon Favreau and his team.

Nolan says Favreau “very, very generously” shared several filming techniques and tech allowing live-projecting backgrounds and shifting of the parallax in real-time in-camera. The technique is used in interior scenes set at the headquarters of Delos.
