Wesley Snipes Turns Villain In “Payline”

Wesley Snipes has been set to play the villain and executive produce the indie action thriller “Payline” at Dawn’s Light.

The heist-meets-crime thriller ensemble tale centers on a small-town casino that turns into a battleground after two groups of criminals attempt to rob it on the same night. It has been dubbed “Ocean’s 11” meets “Free Fire”.

Snipes will play the leader of a group of ex-soldiers robbing the casino, his first time out as a bad guy since 1993’s “Demolition Man”.

Rob Robol and Jay Boyd wrote the script while Richard Switzer, Allan Ungar and Jason Cherubini are producing.

The project also aims to be a 100 percent Certified Renewable Energy film production and hopes to debunk the myth that it costs more to make a sustainable movie than a ‘normal’ production.

Snipes next appears opposite Eddie Murphy in Netflix’s “Dolemite Is My Name” and also stars in RZA’s “Cut Throat City”.
