Tim Burton & Netflix’s Addams Family offshoot comedy-horror series “Wednesday” has broken a Netflix viewing record.
The Jenna Ortega-led series debuted last Wednesday on the streamer and has debuted at the top of the list for the most viewed hours of a Netflix debut for an English-Language TV series.
The eight-episode series pulled in a whopping 341.2 million hours viewed in its first week, coming in at #1 on the global Netflix Top 10 for the week of November 21st-27th.
That pushes the fourth season of “Stranger Things” off the top spot, with that season clocking up 335.01 million hours of viewing in its debut week. Even more impressive is that ‘Things’ had a full seven-day count, whilst the figures for “Wednesday” were only its first five days.
“Wednesday” also reached the top spot in 83 countries and the top ten in all 93 countries where Top 10s are tracked. “Squid Game” remains Netflix’s top show of all time, with 571.76 million hours viewed in its biggest single week.
