Netflix has begun developing a sequel to Robert Rodriguez’s superhero kids movie “We Can Be Heroes”.
The film followed the children of Earth’s superheroes who have to take on alien invaders who kidnapped their parents. It also incorporated characters from Rodriguez’s earlier films “Spy Kids” and “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl”.
The streamer indicates the film contributed to record-setting viewership on Netflix during the holiday Christmas week. Rodriguez will return for the sequel. It’s estimated around 44 million households will view “We Can be Heroes” in the movie’s first 28 days on the service.
