The second season of HBO’s “Perry Mason” has seen multiple new casting additions announced today, along with word that Diarra Kilpatrick is being upped to a series regular role in the new run.
The new season begins months after the end of the trial and the worst year of the Depression. Perry (Matthew Rhys) and Della (Juliet Rylance) have set the firm on a safer path pursuing civil cases instead of the tumultuous work that criminal cases entail.
An open-and-closed case overtakes the city of Los Angeles, and Perry’s pursuit of justice reveals that not everything is always as it seems. Katherine Waterston (“Inherent Vice,” “Alien: Covenant”) has scored a series regular role in the second run as Ginny Aimes, a near-perfect schoolteacher who helps teach Teddy.
Also onboard in recurring roles are Hope Davis (“Your Honor”), Peter Mendoza (“NCIS”), Jon Chaffin (“BMF”), Fabrizio Guido (“Mr. Iglesias”), Onohoua Rodriguez (“Veronica Mars”) and Jee Young Han (“Bless the Harts”).
The series is penned by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, who also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Robert Downey Jr, Amanda Burrell, and Susan Downey executive produce.
