Warners Shows First “Dune: Part Two” Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures

Warner Bros. Pictures held its CinemaCon presentation this afternoon offering where it showed off a first look at Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two” to the exhibitors and media.

Villeneuve and stars Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya were on hand to present the new trailer with Villeneuve saying the entire film this time is shot in IMAX, as opposed to the first, which was 40% shot in IMAX.

He describes the first one as more of a “contemplative movie” whereas the sequel is an “action-packed, epic, war movie” that’s “much more dense”. The production used all new locations with Villeneuve saying: “I didn’t want a feeling of repetition. It’s all new sets. Everything is new.”

Austin Butler’s Feyd was shown off, the character said to be bald and pale-looking and Villeneuve describes him as: “an Olympic sword-master crossed with a psychotic serial killer”.

The trailer’s centerpiece was reportedly Paul’s first ride on a Sandworm and preparing for battle with Feyd. There was also reportedly a glimpse of Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and a kiss between Chani and Paul.

This follow-up film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. He sets out to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

“Dune: Part Two” is set to hit cinemas on November 3rd.
