Wandavision Helmer In Talks For Fantastic 4
Marvel Studios

First reported on The Direct yesterday and now confirmed in the trades, “WandaVision” director/executive producer Matt Shakman is in early talks to direct the new “Fantastic Four” film at Marvel Studios.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks that he was in the mix, and while no formal offer is out yet, early discussions are looking good according to all three trades with reports indicating Michael Matthews (“Love and Monsters”) and Reid Carolin (“Dog”) met with Marvel prior to talks with Shakman beginning in earnest.

Shakman would replace “Spider-Man: No Way Home” helmer Jon Watts who exited the project in the Spring. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is producing.

The new “Fantastic Four” film is set to serve as the kick-off to Marvel’s Phase 6 plans, with the movie set to bow on November 8th 2024.
