Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz and Oscar-nominee Willem Dafoe are set to star in the western thriller “Dead For a Dollar”. Famed “The Warriors” filmmaker Walter Hill write and directs the feature which is set in New Mexico Territory, Chihuahua, in 1897.
Waltz plays Max Borlund, a famed bounty hunter hired to find and return a Santa Fe businessman’s wife seemingly kidnapped by an African American army deserter.
When Max goes to Mexico in search and runs across his sworn enemy – gambling expatriate American Joe Cribbens (Dafoe) whom Max sent to prison years before.
He also finds the woman and deserter, now lovers hiding in the Mexican desert from her abusive husband. Does Max return her, or does he aid her in fighting off ruthless hired guns and his longtime criminal rival?
Jeremy Wall, Kirk D’Amico and Carolyn Mc Masters produce with Matt Harris penning the script.
