“Fleabag” and “Killing Eve” creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge, hot off multiple Emmy wins on Sunday, has closed a substantial first look deal with Amazon.
Under the deal, Waller-Bridge will create and produce new television content for Amazon Studios that will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Said deal is reportedly worth around $20 million a year and follows on from the success the streamer has had with “Fleabag”.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios in a statement says: “We are thrilled to be continuing our partnership with Phoebe at Amazon Studios! As evident in her great success at the Emmy Awards this week, she is clever, brilliant, generous and a virtuoso on multiple fronts…. we are excited for what comes next from this brilliant mind to dazzle and delight our global audience.”
Waller-Bridge recently took a pass at the script for the new James Bond film “No Time To Die” and will executive produce the HBO romantic comedy thriller “Run”.
