“WALL-E” & “John Carter” Director Sets “Blink”

Disney

Oscar-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton (“WALL-E,” “Finding Nemo”) is set to direct the sci-fi drama “In the Blink of Eye” for Searchlight Pictures.

Written by Colby Day, the story explores the entire history of the world and tackles the nature of life, love, hope and connection via three intersecting storylines.

“2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Interstellar” and “Magnolia” are deemed the touchstones of the script which made the 2017 Black List. Jared Ian Goldman (“Ingrid Goes West,” “Russian Doll”) is producing.

The project marks a return to live-action feature filmmaking for Stanton who previously directed 2012’s “John Carter” adaptation and more recently helmed episodes of “Stranger Things,” “For All Mankind” and “Better Call Saul”.
