Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is expected to dominate the box-office this weekend around the world.
Though “Halloween Ends” and “Black Adam” delivered strong starts, the Marvel sequel is expected to have the first real juggernaut box-office opening in months.
The film is on track to earn between $175-185 million in its domestic opening weekend, around the same amount again overseas for a global opening weekend in the $355-365 million range.
That would be the third-highest debut of the pandemic after two other Marvel productions – “Spider-Man: No Way Home” ($568M) and “Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness” ($429M).
Buoyed by very good reviews at 90% (7.9/10) on Rotten Tomatoes, doesn’t really have a major challenger until a month later when “Avatar: The Way of Water” opens on December 16th.
