“Wakanda Forever” Sets Disney+ Launch

Marvel

The Disney+ service has seemingly revealed that a February 1st premiere date is set for Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” on the streamer. The film will launch with its IMAX Enhanced version enabled.

Ryan Coogler returns to direct the sequel which has, so far, managed to generate $820.1 million at the box office from a $250 million budget and recently received two nominations at the 80th Golden Globe Awards and six nominations at the 28th Critics’ Choice Awards.

Letitia Wright, Tenoch Huerta, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Dominique Thorne and Winston Duke star in the film that was released theatrically on November 11th last year.

UPDATE: Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the date. The Hollywood Handle first reported a January 20th release date, but When to Stream subsequently shot that down with a screenshot of the Disney+ page for the film seemingly confirming the February 1st release.

For now the February 1st date, with its visual evidence from a more reliable source, seems to be the more concrete one. Disney hasn’t issued an official announcement at this time.
