Rupert Wainwright (“Stigmata,” “The Fog” remake) has dropped out of plans to direct the Miles Teller-led survival drama “Not Without Hope,” the exit being attributed to “creative differences”.
The story follows Nick Schuyler who survived hours in the freezing water after his boat capsized in the Gulf of Mexico whilst on a fishing trip with three friends – two of whom were Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper and free-agent NFL defensive lineman Corey Smith.
E. Nicholas Mariani wrote the screenplay based on Schuyler and Jere Longman’s novel. Filming was scheduled to start in the next few weeks in the Dominican Republic and so the production is now looking for a new director which will push back the shoot.
