Wahlberg Considering Fewer Future Roles?

Sony Pictures

52-year-old Mark Wahlberg is busier than ever, so much so it appears he might be stepping back a bit from acting in the future.

Wahlberg’s slate over the past few years has been incredibly busy with released movies like “Uncharted,” “Spenser Confidential,” “Father Stu,” “Infinite,” “Scoob!,” “Joe Bell” and “Me Time”.

On top of that he has at least three others on the way – “Arthur the King,” “Our Man from Jersey” and “The Family Plan” along with being attached to several others in development.

Wahlberg recently sat down with Cigar Aficionado magazine (via THR) for a new interview for an upcoming issue of the publication to discuss family, faith and creating his own opportunities.

During the chat, he questions how much longer he can appear in front of cameras:

“Well, I’m certainly working harder now than ever. Certain businesses, you kind of build them, pass them on or you exit. Hopefully my kids, we’ll see what their interests are, but I don’t think that I’ll be acting that much longer at the pace I am now. That’s for sure. Because that’s the most difficult thing.”

Wahlberg is also known as a producer, something he says came “out of necessity” and it sounds like there won’t be any slowdown there. He reportedly adds he may sit in the director’s chair at some point.
