“Wahl Street,” “Pantheon” Ordered To Series

HBO Max has handed out a green light for “Wahl Street,” an eight-episode reality series which is essentially “Shark Tank” with Mark Wahlberg as the judge.

Each episode will follow the “Spenser Confidential” star as he navigates his expansive business portfolio, spanning all sectors of commerce ranging from a line of activewear, sports nutrition supplements, media production companies, and a Chevrolet dealership.

Each episode will include a diverse group of entrepreneurs and inventors pitching Wahlberg a bunch of new opportunities, eager to have him endorse or invest in their ideas. The series began production in December.

That’s not the only series order handed out today. AMC has given a two-season order to the one-hour animated drama series “Pantheon” which is based on short stories by Ken Liu about human consciousness uploaded to the cloud.

Each season consists of eight episodes with the first following a bullied teen who receives mysterious help online – help that turns out to be her recently deceased father.

Craig Silverstein will serve as the writer and showrunner, with Liu serving as a consulting producer in what is the first animated series AMC has ever ordered.
