Vudu & FandangoNOW Officially Merge

Vudu Fandangonow Officially Merge

Vudu and FandangoNOW are set to merge into a single on-demand entertainment platform that will retain the Vudu name. Kicking off from today, the new Vudu platform will be the official movie and TV source for media player service Roku.

The service will offer more than 200,000 new releases and catalog titles to rent or buy including recent theatrical releases – competing with Apple iTunes, Amazon Prime Video and Google Play/YouTube though not nearly as global as those. Fandango acquired Vudu from Walmart last year.

Vudu is available in more than 75 million U.S. TV-connected device households with more than 60 million registered users. From Tuesday, FandangoNOW customers can transfer their accounts and their existing movie and TV libraries stored on Roku to the new Vudu.

A good portion of the service’s titles will be available in 4K Ultra HD and support formats such as Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
