Roland Emmerich has used his social media accounts to confirm that actress Vivica A. Fox is set to return for the upcoming sequel to the 1996 alien invasion tale “Independence Day”.
Fox played Jasmine Dubrow in the 1996 original, an exotic dancer and mother who is the partner of Will Smith’s character. Smith is bowing out of the upcoming sequel, but Fox is amongst several returning actors with Jeff Goldblum confirmed and Bill Pullman is also thought to be returning in some capacity.
Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher and Charlotte Gainsbourg also star in the project which begins production in May.
