“Vision Quest” Recasts A.I. With “Picard” Star

Paramount+

Orla Brady has reportedly been cast as the voice of F.R.I.D.A.Y., the A.I. created by Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark to replace J.A.R.V.I.S. following his Vision transformation, in the upcoming “Vision Quest” series at Marvel Studios.

The series serves as a spin-off of 2021’s “WandaVision” and will focus on Paul Bettany’s MCU character following the events of that series, where he was resurrected as an earlier version of himself.

Terry Matalas, who served as executive producer on the first two seasons of “Star Trek: Picard” and showrunner on its third and final one, is serving as showrunner here.

According to Gizmodo he announced at a recent Star Trek Las Vegas panel that Brady, who played Laris and Tallinn in those first two seasons of “Picard,” would take on the F.R.I.D.A.Y. role. Brady has a long history of TV roles ranging from “Bosch” and “Fringe” to “Sinbad” and “Into the Badlands”.

She will replace “F1” star Kerry Condon, who voiced the character in the last three “Avengers” films, “Captain America: Civil War” and “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.

Matalas also confirmed that “Picard” fan favourite Todd Stashwick will be playing Paladin, a bounty hunter who is hunting White Vision.

Matalas also compared Vision’s journey in the show to Spock’s in “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” film – namely that though his memories have been reimplanted, he will have troubles connecting and understanding them fully.

The series also stars James Spader as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica as Tucker, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Faran Tahir as Raza, and Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.

“Vision Quest” is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
