“Vikings” Final Season To Debut On Amazon

Amazon has made a deal with the History Channel that will see the final ten episodes of the sixth and final season of “Vikings” to roll out on its Prime Video streaming service first.

All ten episodes will arrive on Amazon in the US, UK, Germany, Austria and Ireland on December 30th. After that point, they will roll out on History in a weekly format but a specific launch date there has not yet been set.

Creator Michael Hirst says: “Prime Video will uniquely expose the series finale to a streaming audience first. Prepare to be astonished, and for many surprises along the way. And if you have tears to shed, then also be prepared to shed them.”

Amazon Prime is the current streaming home of all five and a half seasons of the series to have aired to date and has proven a success for them. However the show’s spin-off series, “Vikings: Valhalla” which is set a century later, is a Netflix original.
