Video Game “SIFU” To Become A Film

Story Kitchen and Sloclap are teaming for a live-action film adaptation of this year’s acclaimed videogame “SIFU”. “John Wick” creator Derek Kolstad is reportedly adapting the script.

Set in modern-day China, the revenge tale follows the student of a martial arts school’s master (Sifu) as he seeks to avenge the murder of his mentor.

The big element of the game is that the student has a magical talisman that resurrects him each time he dies, but each time he also immediately ages a little bit. Should he become too old too fast, his death will become permanent.

The indie title sold over a million copies in its first three weeks. Kolstad, Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg, Dan Jevons, Jeff Ludwig and Timothy I. Stevenson are producing.
