Filmmaker Gore Verbinski (“The Ring,” “Pirates of the Caribbean”) is reportedly set to direct a new CG animated feature film for Netflix, based on an original idea from Verbinski who will also produce.
Discussing Film reported the news, saying there is no word currently on when to expect the film’s release. However, animation development for the film may have been in the works since sometime last year.
The project, Verbinski’s first since 2016’s “A Cure for Wellness,” will likely be akin to his first CG animated feature “Rango” which followed a pet chameleon who aspires to be a hero. That film was met with high praise.
