“Venture Bros.” Might & “Vicar” Will Return

HBO Max head Andy Forssell has teased that the streaming service is working on ideas to revive the beloved animated series “The Venture Bros.” which was recently canceled by Adult Swim after seven seasons over seventeen years.

In a tweet recently, Forssell wrote: “The Venture Bros fans are passionate, but incredibly civil. I’ve received tons of emails, all of which are short very well written notes, oozing with politeness. Class fans. Nothing imminent, but know that we’re working on it.”

The series started out as something of a “Johnny Quest” spoof and ended up becoming a complicated work of surprising depth that has since scored critical acclaim.

Speaking of comedy revivals, The BBC reports that Dawn French will reprise her role as vicar Geraldine Grainger for three lockdown-inspired episodes of Richard Curtis’ classic sitcom “The Vicar Of Dibley” being readied for this Christmas.

The original series ran on BBC One from 1994 to 2007 and has since returned for occasional charity specials. The new ten-minute specials will see how Geraldine has been delivering monthly sermons to her parishioners via Zoom – when she can make it work.

These specials will air weekly after repeats of episodes of the classic sitcom. A thirty-minute compilation episode will then air at Christmas.
