Sony Pictures has delayed “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” once again, this time pushing the Tom Hardy-led sequel back three months from June 25th to September 17th this year.
Despite the re-opening of movie theaters in both Los Angeles and New York City, the release schedule isn’t expected to be able to handle too many blockbusters close together.
With Universal recently shifting “F9: The Fast Saga” to late June, the shift of the Andy Serkis-directed “Venom” sequel isn’t a surprise and puts it in more familiar territory as the first film was also an early Fall release.
As of now, it’ll open against “Death on the Nile” and “The Boss Baby: Family Business,” and come two weeks before “Dune”.
Sony has also pulled the Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson-led “Man From Toronto” from the release calendar. It was originally slated for September 17th.
