Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “The Aviator,” “JFK”) has come onboard to lens the fast-developing “Venom” sequel at Sony Pictures.
Acclaimed motion-capture actor Andy Serkis will direct the project, his third directorial effort following “Breathe” (which Richardson also lensed) and Netflix’s “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle”. He was also the second unit director on “The Hobbit” trilogy.
Serkis and the film’s star Tom Hardy are working on the sequel’s script. The first film amassed an enormous $855 million worldwide during its box office run despite negative reviews. “Venom 2” is currently slated for an October 2nd 2020 release.
