Peter Weber (“Hannibal Rising”) will be directing the remake of the feminist space odyssey “Barbarella” according to producer Dino De Laurentiis reports Variety.
Then there’s an as-yet-untitled underwater epic about a killer whale, penned by Tom and Jez Butterworth who will deliver a script next month.
De Laurentiis plans to use Morocco’s CLA studios, which he bought a part of to develop the long-gestating Baz Luhrmann Alexander the Great project, to shoot “Barbarella”.
De Laurentiis also hopes to still make Luhrmann’s Alexander pic and have stayed in regular contact with him.
