Universal Picks Up E.L. James’ “The Mister”

Universal Pictures and “Fifty Shades of Grey” author E. L. James are re-teaming with the studio optioning the rights to her next novel “The Mister” released last year.

The story follows a wealthy British aristocrat who falls in love with his Albanian housekeeper, unaware that she is on the run from human traffickers. James, who produced every film in the “Fifty Shades” trilogy, returns to produce this adaptation.

James’ books have been published in 50 languages and have sold more than 150 million copies worldwide. She has been recognized as one of Time Magazine’s ‘most influential people in the world’.
