Universal Pictures is delaying the most high-profile features on its upcoming horror film slate.
First up, Nia DaCosta’s “Candyman” revival is being pushed back a further three weeks – going from September 25th to October 16th this year.
That’s a small delay compared to the two upcoming “Halloween” sequels which have both been delayed a full year. “Halloween Kills” will now open October 15th 2021 while “Halloween Ends” opens October 14th 2022.
Finally, Universal has set “The Forever Purge” for a July 9th 2021 release.
The delays mean Universal has little left in 2020 – its only scheduled releases now being “Candyman” in October, the international run of “No Time to Die” in November, and both the animated “The Croods 2” and the Tom Hanks-led “News of the World” around the Christmas weekend.
