Universal Pictures has set new release dates for two DreamWorks movies and one Amblin Entertainment project.

Sci-fi adventure “Distant” will open March 11th 2022 and will star Anthony Ramos as a low-level mining engineer whose spaceship gets struck by an asteroid sending him to an unknown alien planet.

There he contends with his AI survival suit (voiced by Zachary Quinto) and aliens. He connects with a fellow crew member (Naomi Scott) via radio, but she’s trapped inside her own escape pod, and losing oxygen as well.

Stand-up comedian Jo Koy stars in “Easter Sunday” which will open three weeks later on April 1st 2022. The film follows a man returning home for an Easter celebration with his riotous Filipino-American family.

Finally the Andre Ovredal-directed “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” will debut on January 27th 2023. Corey Hawkins, Liam Cunningham and David Dastmalchian star.

That film, based on an iconic chapter of Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, follows a voyage from Carpathia to London of a merchant ship transporting fifty unmarked wooden crates. Strange events befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive.
