Uncharted Tops Box Office With 23m
Sony PIctures

With no real competition until next week, Sony Pictures’ “Uncharted” retained the box-office crown quite easily with the film on track to pull in a further $23 million in its second weekend – holding well from the $45 million for the three-day it earned last weekend.

By the weekend’s end, it will have a domestic haul of $83.1 million and a global haul nearing $200 million. Also staying strong is Channing Tatum’s “Dog” which looks to be dropping around 43% to a $8.5 million second weekend haul and $29 million total.

The only wide release this weekend was the Foo Fighters horror-comedy “Studio 666” which is tracking for a $1.8 million opening weekend. In limited release, Joe Wright’s musical “Cyrano” opened to $1.25 million while the re-release of “The Godfather” snagged $1.2 million.

Everything is set to change next weekend with Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” on track for an opening expected to be above $115 million despite a three-hour runtime.
