“Uncharted” film director Ruben Fleischer has confirmed that he is working on an adaptation of one of Naughty Dog’s other franchises – “Jak and Daxter”.
In an interview with Digital Trends, Fleischer confirms he is working on bringing the iconic duo to life saying: “I’m actually working on Jak and Daxter, a version of that, for PlayStation, which I think would be really cool to bring to life.”
The action-platformer series was a cornerstone franchise on the PlayStation 2 before developer Naughty Dog shifted to the “Uncharted” and “The Last of Us” franchises – both of which have upcoming screen adaptations.
During promotional rounds, “Uncharted” star Tom Holland recently said that he would like to star in an A24-produced adaptation of “Jak and Daxter”. That likely won’t happen, but it’s not clear if the version Fleischer is working on is live-action or animated.
“Uncharted” opens in theaters on February 18th.
