Netflix has released a clip showing off the pre-titles sequence of the first episode of the upcoming second season of its comic book adaptation “The Umbrella Academy”.
Picking up right where the first season left off, its revealed that Five’s (Aiden Gallagher) time-hop didn’t quite go according to plan with the others scattered throughout the 1960s with Five landing last and straight into a war zone after the Soviets invade the United States.
The FX-fueled long take sequence shows off all the main characters who are engaged in the fighting and Five offered a chance to undo the damage they did to the timeline.
Reviews for the new season have jumped considerably on the soft positive ones for the first season – going from 75% (7.2/10) to a 96% (8.67/10) on Rotten Tomatoes with reviews praising a better story that’s tighter, cleaner and better performed.
“The Umbrella Academy” returns this Friday on Netflix.
