The three biggest films arriving in the immediate wake of “Avengers: Endgame” have released new short trailers today, clocking in at a little under or over a minute each.
The first is for “Uglydolls,” the upcoming animated musical adventure starring the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae, Blake Shelton and Pitbull and inspired by the global plush toy phenomenon which was launched in 2001. The story follows a group of characters who set out to find it there’s anything on the other side of the mountain which nestles Uglyville.
The second is for “Detective Pikachu,” the first live-action “Pokemon” film which takes a mystery comedy approach. Justice Smith stars as a teen whose father is kidnapped which leads him to Ryan Reynolds’ Pikachu and Kathryn Newton as a young journalist who team up in order to find him. Ken Watanabe, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora and Bill Nighy co-star.
The last is for “The Hustle,” MGM’s modern remake of 1988 comedy hit “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson playing the con artists – one high class the other low rent – in this version. Tim Blake Nelson, Alex Sharp, Ingrid Oliver, and Emma Davies also star. “The Hustle” previously scored an R-rating, but successfully overturned the rating to garner a PG-13 for ‘Crude Sexual Content and Language’.
“Uglydolls” opens May 3rd while both “Detective Pikachu” and “The Hustle” are slated to open on May 11th.
