Publisher CD Projekt RED and developer Fool’s Theory have jointly announced a remake of the original 2007 “The Witcher” game, one rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5.
The project is reportedly in the early stages of development at Fool’s Theory and will involve veteran “The Witcher” series staff. CD Projekt RED is also offering full creative supervision.
Earlier this month CD Projekt Red teased three “The Witcher” game projects that were in the works. This was the one codenamed ‘Project Canis Majoris’ and joins both a trilogy launching fourth entry (‘Project Polaris’) and an innovative multiplayer focus title from developers Molasses Flood and codenamed ‘Project Sirius’.
Though the announcement is today, the game is still early in development and the company “want to ask you for patience as it will be a while until we start talking about this project in detail.”
