Ubisoft held its Ubisoft Forward showcase today with a variety of clips, including the first official gameplay footage from their open world “Star Wars” game “Star Wars Outlaws” first announced yesterday with a cinematic trailer.
The ten-minute walkthrough of ‘Outlaws’ sees players play as protagonist Kay Vess as she sneaks through a facility crawling with members of the Empire. Vess can command her pet, Nix, to attack enemies and interact with the environment. A hoverbike chase and space ship dogfight ensue.
As per usual with Ubisoft, their biggest games each had two trailers – one a story-driven cinematic affair about the length of a regular movie trailer, the other a 6-8 minute clip of gameplay from said title. “Assassin’s Creed: Mirage,” “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” and “The Crew: Motorfest” all had such double clips.
There was also the very first footage from “Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade,” the ancient China set “Assassin’s Creed” game that’s the first part of the “Assassin’s Creed: Infinity” mobile platform live service.
The VR game “Assassin’s Creed Nexus” was announced for the Meta Quest VR system, the live service game “The Division Resurgence” got a trailer, and the long in the works “Skull and Bones” got a music video.
Finally, several crossover announcement were made such as “Riders Republic” getting a “skate” add-on, “Rayman” coming to “Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope” in DLC, “Roller Champions” getting a “Jet Set Radio” event reveal, and “Brawlhalla” getting a “Halo” crossover.
