Tye Sheridan (“Ready Player One,” “X-Men: Apocalypse”) is in talks to star opposite Ben Affleck in George Clooney’s coming-of-age feature “The Tender Bar” at Amazon Studios.
Based on J.R. Moehringer’s bestselling memoir, the story recollects the time Moehringer (Sheridan) spent searching for unlikely father figures among the patrons at the bar of his uncle Charlie (Affleck) in Long Island.
It’s not clear whether Clooney plans to act in the film himself. Oscar-winning scribe William Monahan (“Kingdom of Heaven,” “The Departed”) will adapt the script while Clooney, Grant Heslov and Ted Hope produce.
