Pathe has announced the impressive full cast for its dual “Three Musketeers” movies along with release dates of April 5th 2023 and December 13th 2023 for the features.
The new adaptations of Alexandre Dumas’ iconic novel, going by the official titles of “The Three Musketeers – D’Artagnan” and “The Three Musketeers – Milady,” will both be directed by Martin Bourboulon (“Daddy or Mommy,” “Eiffel”) with Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelliere penning the scripts.
The impressive cast is as follows:

Vincent Cassel – Athos
Pio Marmaï – Porthos
Romain Duris – Aramis
Louis Garrel – King Louis XIII
Vicky Krieps – Queen Anne
Eric Ruf – Cardinal Richelieu
Jacob Fortune-Lloyd – The Duke of Buckingham
Lyna Khoudri – Constance Bonacieux
Marc Barbe – Captain de Treville
Patrick Mille – The Count of Chalais
Julien Frison – Gaston De France
The films will also have Ralph Amoussou as new character Hannibal who is based on the true story of Louis Anniaba, the first Black musketeer in history.
Meanwhile “Queen’s Gambit” alum Jacob Fortune-Lloyd steps in to replace the previously cast “Haunting of Hill House” actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen in the Duke of Buckingham role.
Both movies will be shot back-to-back at the end of this summer in France.
The property has been adapted countless times to the screen, the more recent notable versions being the 1993 Disney film with Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Chris O’Donnell, Rebecca deMornay and Tim Curry, the 2011 film with Luke Evans, Milla Jovovich, Mads Mikkelsen, Christoph Waltz and Orlando Bloom, and the 2014 BBC series with Tom Burke, Santiago Cabrera, Luke Pasqualino and Peter Capaldi.
