Oscar winner Charlize Theron has picked up the remake rights to Elbert van Strien’s Dutch supernatural thriller “Two Eyes Staring” (aka. “Zwart Water”) says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story follows a nine-year-old girl who discovers her sinister friend is the ghost of her mother’s dead twin. van Strien and Paulo van Vliet penned the script.
Theron will produce through her Denver & Delilah production banner and several “A-list directors” are currently in talks about helming the feature.
