“Twisters,” “Lilo,” “Boneyard” Set Cast

Warner Bros. Pictures

A couple of casting announcements today starting with “In the Heights” alum Anthony Ramos being in talks to star in “Twisters” for Universal Pictures, Warner Bros. and Amblin Entertainment.

This ‘new chapter’ to the 1996 storm-chasing blockbuster “Twister” also stars Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, with the project being helmed by “Minari” director Lee Isaac Chung from a script by Mark L. Smith. The film opens July 2024.

Next, Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” film has cast newcomer Kahiau Machado as David Kawena – the role Jason Scott Lee voiced in the original 2002 film.

David is Nani’s love interest and Lilo’s friend in the film, and he joins Maia Kealoha as Lilo and Sydney Elizabeth Agudong as Nani. Zach Galifianakis also stars in the Dean Fleischer Camp-directed film, which is intended to be a major release on Disney+.

Finally, Mel Gibson and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson are set to headline the Asif Akbar-directed indie crime-thriller “Boneyard” which has begun shooting in Las Vegas.

Brian Van Holt and Nora Zehetner co-star in the film about an FBI special agent (Gibson) hunting for a serial killer nicknamed The Bone Collector. The chief of police (Jackson) and one of his officers (Van Holt), however, have a contrary view of the manhunt, believing someone in their own department may be the killer.
