Fifteen years after the release of the first “Twilight” novel, author Stephanie Meyer has announced the August 4th release of her companion novel “Midnight Sun”.
The original four book series centered around shy high-schooler Bella Swan, but the new novel will re-tell the story through the eyes of vampire Edward Cullen.
“Midnight Sun” was originally supposed to be published in 2008, but it was cancelled when a partial draft of a manuscript was leaked online. It will now be released in its entirety through publishing company Hachette Book Group.
The five films based on the original four books made stars out of its main trio of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, along with giving distributor Lionsgate one of its biggest film franchises. A film adaptation of this is possible but would require recasting.
