Disney is set to majorly ramp up its output in regard to its “Marvel” and “Star Wars” properties for the Disney+ streaming service.
Appearing as part of Disney’s four-hour investor day, Walt Disney Company’s Media and Entertainment Distribution Chairman Kareem Daniel says the company will ‘roughly’ launch approximately ten Marvel series, ten Star Wars series and fifteen live-action, animation and Pixar series over the next few years.
He says: “With these Disney+ originals, along with theatrical releases and library titles, we will be adding something new to the service every week.”
Disney has not offered any detail on the series, but it is likely to include the already announced titles from the Cassian Andor prequel and Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series to the at least six or so Marvel shows we’re already aware of.
