The Last of Us
Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation,” “Devs”) has joined the cast of HBO’s live-action series adaptation of iconic video game “The Last of Us”.
Actor Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), who also stars, revealed that many of his scenes are with Offerman in the series but wouldn’t reveal what role. Bartlett plays Frank, the partner of paranoid survivor Bill (Con O’Neill). [Source: The Guardian]
FX
Disney has officially killed off its ‘FX on Hulu’ branding after less than two years. Instead, the company is simplifying its branding to make it consistent worldwide.
So it is shortening it to just FX which will now be added above the titles on all FX shows across Disney’s streaming services around the globe starting this month. Hulu subscribers will also now find FX programming in the new ‘FX’ hub. [Source: Variety]
A.P. Bio
Peacock has cancelled the Glenn Howerton-led comedy “A.P. Bio” after four seasons, the last two of which were exclusive to that streaming service. Series creator Mike O’Brien revealed the news via Twitter. [Source: Twitter]
The Wheel of Time
Guy Roberts, Arnas Fedaravicius and Gregg Chillingirian are set for recurring roles in the currently in production second season of the fantasy series adaptation of Robert Jordan’s “The Wheel of Time” books at Amazon.
Roberts plays Uno Nomesta and Fedaravicius plays Masema, both are soldiers who serve Lord Agelmar. Chillingirian portrays Ingtar Shinowa, a lord and soldier from war-ravaged lands. [Source: Deadline]
Yellowstone: 1883
Acting veteran Graham Greene has joined the “Yellowstone” prequel series “1883” on the Paramount+ service. The series, premiering December 19th, follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains.
Greene will play Spotted Eagle, a Crow elder who spots the wagon train and tells James Dutton about the place, Paradise Valley, where he should settle with his family. Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Sam Elliot, Billy Bob Thornton and LaMonica Garret co-star. [Source: Variety]
A Discovery of Witches
Sundance Now, Shudder, and AMC+ have announced a January 8th premiere date for the third and final season of the fantasy series “A Discovery of Witches”. The epic conclusion to the fantasy saga finds Matthew (Matthew Goode) and Diana (Teresa Palmer) returning from 1590 to the present day and combatting what they left behind.
