Amazon’s sci-fi comedy “Upload” has been picked up for a second season, the renewal comes just a week after the series from “The Office” creator Greg Daniels premiered on the service. Set in 2033, when people have the option of uploading their consciousness to a virtual afterlife when they die.

The action centers on Nathan (Robbie Amell) who is badly injured in a self-driving car accident and makes a hasty decision to be uploaded to the luxurious virtual afterlife of his girlfriend Ingrid’s (Allegra Edwards) family. Once there, Nathan develops a bond with Nora (Andy Allo), the customer service ‘angel’ assigned to look after him. [Source: The Live Feed]

Santa, Inc.
HBO Max has handed out a series order to “Santa, Inc.” an eight-episode adult animated series set at the North Pole during the Christmas season and starring Sarah Silverman and Seth Rogen. The project hails from “Shrill” showrunner Alexandra Rushfield, Rogen and Evan Goldberg,

Silverman plays Candy Smalls, the highest-ranking female elf at the North Pole. When the successor to Santa Claus (Rogen) is poached by Amazon on Christmas Eve, Candy goes for her ultimate dream – to become the first female Santa in the history of Christmas. [Source: THR]

Untitled Jan Broberg Series
NBCUniversal’s UCP and producer Nick Antosca (“The Act”) has won the rights to Jan Broberg’s true-crime stranger-than-fiction story for development as a limited series. Antosca will write and executive produce.

Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of years by a charismatic, obsessed family ‘friend’ while her devoutly religious family were utterly unprepared for the sophisticated tactics their neighbor used to exploit their vulnerabilities and turn their daughter against them. [Source: Deadline]

Adventure Time: Distant Lands
HBO Max and Cartoon Network has released the first trailer for their four-episode animated special “Adventure Time: Distant Lands” which offers a look at the miniseries’ first episode centering on Niki Yang’s BMO. Each special is set to focus on a different character or set of characters from the acclaimed series.

The Baby-Sitters Club
Netflix has debuted the first official teaser for the series adaptation of the Scholastic novel franchise “The Baby-Sitters Club” premiering July 3rd. The series follows the friendship and adventures of a group of middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein play two of the parents.
