Tom Jones
“Ted Lasso” scene-stealer Hannah Waddingham will join Solly McLeod and Sophie Wilde in the miniseries reimagining of Henry Fielding’s 1749 novel “The History of Tom Jones, A Foundling” for PBS Masterpiece, Mammoth Screen and ITV.
The scandalous tale follows a young man’s attempt to find a place in the world. Waddingham will play the seductive and vengeful Lady Bellaston. Pearl Mackie, James Fleet, Alun Armstrong, Shirley Henderson and Tamzin Merchant co-star. [Source: Deadline]
The Sandman
Neil Gaiman has confirmed that Jenna Coleman (“Doctor Who,” “Victoria”) will play both the 18th-century Lady Joanna Constantine and her modern-day paranormal investigating ancestor Joanna in Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of his comic series “The Sandman”.
Gaiman also says due to complications over rights, John Constantine won’t be appearing with Johanna essentially replacing him. [Source: Twitter]
Maya and the Three
The trailer has been released for “Maya and the Three,” the new nine-episode Netflix animated series arriving October 22nd and starring Zoe Saldana as a young warrior who finds out that due to a family secret, her life now belongs to the God of War.
Maya decides to take on all the gods of the underworld with three warriors by her side. Gabriel Iglesias, Allen Maldonado, Stephanie Beatriz, Diego Luna, Gael GarcÃa Bernal, Alfred Molina, Kate del Castillo, Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin, Rosie Perez, Queen Latifah, Wyclef Jean co-star.
Just Beyond
Disney+ has released the trailer for the eight-episode anthology series “Just Beyond,” the horror-thriller inspired by the stories from “Goosebumps” and “Fear Street” author R.L. Stine.
Seth Grahame-Smith serves as showrunner with each episode effectively standalone and following charactrs on a journey of self-discovery in a supernatural world. “Just Beyond” debuts on Disney+ on October 13th.
