Step Up
A year after its cancellation at YouTube, Starz has revived dance drama series “Step Up”. The first two seasons will also be available on Starz platforms ahead of the new season which hasn’t set a premiere date as yet.

“Battlestar Galactica” alum Tricia Helfer joins the cast of the show which will be re-imagined for a premium outlet. Creator and exec producer Holly Sorenson, the creative team and cast of “Step Up: High Water” are all returning for the new ten-episode run with the ‘High Water’ element dropped. The Forbidden Game
Warner Bros. Television has acquired the rights to “The Vampire Diaries” author LJ Smith’s young adult novel trilogy “The Forbidden Game” for Berlanti Productions to adapt as TV series. Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and David Madden will executive produce and a search is underway for a writer.

The novel trilogy follows a girl named Jenny and six friends who enter a Jumanji-like game that drops them into different shadow worlds to fight off their worst nightmares, or die and have their souls forever imprisoned. The stakes are set by Julian, an enigmatic blue-eyed boy who moves freely between worlds. [Source: Deadline]

Nine Perfect Strangers
Manny Jacinto (“The Good Place”) has joined the “Nine Perfect Strangers” series at Hulu alongside Melissa McCarthy and Nicole Kidman. Based on the book of the same name by Liane Moriarty, the story takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort where nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living.

Jacinto will play Yao, a bright-eyed man-kid with a hipster vibe. After a life and death encounter with the resort’s director Masha (Kidman), Yao finds himself as her right hand man at Tranquillum and ins entirely in her thrall. The show arrives on Hulu in 2021. [Source: Variety]

Secret Society of Second Born Royals
Disney+ has released the trailer for their new telemovie “Secret Society of Second-Born Royals”. “Andi Mack” star Peyton Elizabeth Lee plays a rebellious teenage member of royalty who, alongside several other youngsters sharing similar royal DNA, discovers the secret powers lying within herself.

At a new, secret boarding school, the kids learn how to harness their powers from a mentor (Skylar Astin), learn how to work together, and try to defeat the villainous Inmate 34 (Greg Bryk). Anna Mastro helms the film which will be available from July 17th.
