“Better Things” actor Alex Desert will replace Hank Azaria in the role of Homer’s co-worker and Lenny’s best friend Carl Carlson for at least this Sunday’s Season 32 premiere of the animated series. It’s unclear if Desert is the permanent voice for Carl.
The recast follows Fox’s statement in June that white actors would no longer be voicing non-white characters on the hit animated comedy series. Azaria had been the longtime voice of the character along with others such as Apu. [Source: Deadline]
Saturday Night Live
The entire 45 season library of “Saturday Night Live” is making its way back to streaming and will be available on NBCUniversal’s Peacock platform starting October 1st. The series has mostly been unavailable as a complete package for the past several years. It’s unclear whether the Peacock episodes will include musical performances, or certain short films. Family Guy
YouTube star Arif Zahir will replace Mike Henry as the voice of Cleveland Brown on FOX’s animated series “Family Guy” after Henry announced in June he would be stepping down from the role. Zahir will start voicing Cleveland for the show’s 19th season which is now beginning production. Henry will remain a series regular on Family Guy, voicing Bruce the Performance Artist, Herbert the Pedophile, and other roles. [Source: TV Line]
Loki
Richard E. Grant has confirmed that “Loki” is the Marvel Studios project he was previously linked to, though from the sounds of it the part is only a small role. The series recently resumed shooting in Atlanta and Grant joins returnee Tom Hiddleston alongside Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. [Source: Twitter]
