Servant
Filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed that he’s getting ready to finish filming on the second season of his Apple TV+ series “Servant”. He also says that during quarantine, he worked out the conclusion of the show and so “we have started our writer’s room for season 3 & 4. I love working on this show. Amazon have announced they have renewed their drama “Hanna” for a third season. Based on the 2011 film starring Saoirse Ronan, the story follows an extraordinary young woman (played by Esme Creed-Miles) as she evades the relentless pursuit of a sinister government agency and tries to discover the truth behind who she is. Idris Elba
“Luther” star Idris Elba has done first-look deal with the Apple TV+ streaming service and will produce both series and films for the tech giant via his Green Door Pictures production company. Elba recently completed production on Ricky Staub’s “Concrete Cowboy,” and comedy with “The Long Run” which he created and stars in for Sky. He also produces “Elba vs Block” for Quibi. The Red Lotus
Chris Bohjalian’s suspense novel “The Red Lotus” is coming to TV with the help of Sherry Marsh (“Pose,” “Vikings”) and Julie Gardner (“A Discovery of Witches”). The project will be develop it into a drama series with Kate Brooke (“A Discovery of Witches”) attached to pen the adaptation and serve as the showrunner.
The story follows Alexis, a young ER doctor in New York whose boyfriend goes missing while on vacation in Thailand. As a result, she uses her own deductive reasoning and expertise as an emergency room medical professional to embark on an international manhunt. [Source: Deadline]
Emily in Paris
Paramount Network comedy series “Emily in Paris” is ditching plans to air this Fall on the network and is instead headed to Netflix. The series is created by and executive produced by Darren Star with Lily Collins starring as the titular Emily.
The ten-episode half-hour romantic comedy follows an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with adventures and challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances. [Source: Variety]
