The Serpent Queen
Starz has ordered the eight-episode period drama series “The Serpent Queen” based on the life of Catherine de Medici and the biographical novel by Leonie Frieda. Justin Haythe will write and executive produce the series, with Francis Lawrence and Erwin Stoff also executive producing.

Considered a plain and common orphaned teenager, she is married into the 16th-century French court. Using her wits and smarts, she ends up ruling France for fifty years. [Source: Deadline]

Breathe
Netflix has ordered the new six-episode drama series “Breathe” from Martin Gero and Brendan Gall who are co-writing and executive producing. The series begins when a small plane crashes in the middle of the Canadian wilderness and a lone woman must battle the elements and odds to survive. [Source: Variety]

Impractical Jokers
The comedy troupe The Tenderloins, best known for their “Impractical Jokers” series, have inked a first-look deal with WarnerMedia to develop and produce scripted and unscripted originals for TNT, TBS, truTV and HBO Max. In addition, “Impractical Jokers” has been renewed for a tenth season on truTV ahead of its ninth season premiere Thursday. [Source: Variety]

Riverdale
The CW has released a trailer for the fourth episode of the current fifth season of “Riverdale,” the episode proving to be a key one which sees the teen drama series jump seven years into the future with Archie now a war veteran, Jughead an author, Betty an FBI agent and ex-kidnapee, and Veronica married to a stranger.
