ABC’s Katey Sagal-led legal advocate drama “Rebel” saw its recent trailer viewed more than 27 million times across multiple video and social media channels in its first six days online.
That puts it well ahead of ABC’s most-watched broadcast trailers out of the pre-pandemic 2019 upfronts led by “Stumptown” with 16.1 million over that period. [Source: Variety]
Untitled L.A. Lakers Project
Sally Field has joined HBO’s untitled scripted series about the Los Angeles Lakers in the ‘Showtime’ era of the 1980s. Field plays Jessie Buss, mother of Lakers owner and billionaire Jerry Buss (John C. Reilly) who turns to her as a trusted advisor and bookkeeper.
Max Borenstein pens and Adam McKay directed the pilot for the series which also stars Adrien Brody, Jason Clark, Quincy Isaiah and Solomon Hughes. [Source: Variety]

Kaci Walfall (“Power,” “Army Wives”) will star in the title role in Ava DuVernay and Jill Blankenship’s The CW pilot “Naomi” based on the DC Comics character.

Brittany Murphy
HBO Max has ordered a documentary about the late Brittany Murphy. Cynthia Hill (“Private Violence”)is directing the two-part series which hails from Blumhouse Television and Pyramid Productions.
The series will explore the life and death of the “Clueless” and “8 Mile” actress who died in 2009 at the age of 32. Her death was ruled an accident due to a combination of pneumonia and the effects of several over-the-counter drugs. [Source: TV Line]

Paramount+ has announced an April 15th premiere date for the seventh and final season of “Younger”. The first four episodes will be available to stream at premiere with the remaining eight episodes tp drop weekly on Thursdays. The full season will also air on TV Land later this year.
