Prehistoric Planet
Apple TV+ has renewed the award-winning natural history series “Prehistoric Planet” for a second season with Jon Favreau and Mike Gunton executive producing for the BBC Studios Natural History Unit.
Narrated by David Attenborough, the five-episode second season will premiere globally in a five-day week-long event beginning May 22nd on the Apple TV+ service. Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, Anze Rozman and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music are handling the score. [Source: Apple TV+]
The Great
Hulu has announced that the entire ten-episode third season of Tony McNamara’s dark period comedy “The Great” will be released on the streamer on May 12th.
In the third season, Catherine (Elle Fanning) and Peter (Nicholas Hoult) try to salvage their marriage after Catherine imprisoned his friends and almost had him assassinated.
Peter must also deal with visions of his dead father (Jason Isaacs) as Catherine spreads her word across borders and must compromise to create progress as a political leader. [Source: Hulu]
Dave
FXX has unveiled the first teaser for the third season of the hit comedy series “Dave” starring rapper Lil Dicky and returning on April 5th with a double-episode premiere. The spot has the neurotic rapper on a tour bus with his best pal and confidante GaTa as the pair set out on Dave’s first tour in the new run.
At the same time Dave will struggle to maintain his relationships. Chloe Bennet will have a recurring role whilst Usher, Demi Lovato, Rick Ross, Don Cheadle, Megan Fox, and Machine Gun Kelly appear.
Somebody Somewhere
HBO has premiered the trailer for the seven-episode second season of comedian and singer Bridget Everett’s comedy series “Somebody Somewhere” which returns on April 23rd.
The series follows Sam (Everett) who struggles to fit the mold of her Kansas hometown. Singing is Sam’s saving grace and leads her on a journey to discover herself and a community of outsiders who don’t fit in but don’t give up. Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison and Jane Brody co-star.
