Central Park
The thirteen-episode third season of the Apple TV+ animated comedy series “Central Park” will premiere on September 9th with three episodes followed by weekly releases through November 18th.
Original cast member Kristen Bell is set to rejoin the series in the new form of Abby (pictured above), little sister to Paige (Katherine Hahn) and aunt to Molly – the character she played in the first season. “The Umbrella Academy” actress Emmy Raver-Lampman has since taken over the Molly role. The Princess
HBO has set an August 13th premiere date for “The Princess,” the Ed Perkins-directed documentary feature which takes an intimate and immersive look at the life of Princess Diana. The release, which played at Sundance in January to positive reviews, will coincide with the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death on August 31st. [Source: HBO]
Desus & Mero
Showtime’s late-night talk show “Desus & Mero” won’t return for a fifth season, the cancellation coming amid reports of a falling out between the two hosts. The Showtime series ran for 180 episodes across its four seasons and hosted its final episode on Thursday, June 23rd. [Source: THR]
Boris
British broadcaster Channel 4 has revealed plans for “Boris,” a four-part documentary series about outgoing U.K. prime minister Boris Johnson. The series will combine rare archive footage and access to those with intimate knowledge of Johnson over the years. [Source: Variety]
Big Sky
Luke Mitchell, Seth Gabel, Henry Ian Cusick, Anirudh Pisharody and Madalyn Horcher have scored recurring roles in the third season of ABC’s “Big Sky” while J. Anthony Pena’s upbeat Deputy Mo Poppernak has been upgraded from recurring to regular. The new season begins September 21st. [Source: Deadline]
The Driver
“Doctor Sleep” and “The Nevers” star Zackary Momoh has landed the lead role opposite Giancarlo Esposito in AMC’s six-part remake of British drama “The Driver”.
Esposito plays a taxi driver whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to chauffeur a New Orleans-based Zimbabwean gangster (Momoh) and a man notorious for exploiting undocumented immigrants at U.S. southern ports. [Source: THR]
